Location and Description of the port
Derince Port is situated on the northern shore of the Gulf of İzmit.
Pilotage
Compulsory. Provided by the port administration.

Fresh Water : Avaliable at all berths.
Towage
Not necessary for the vessels up to 500 GRT.
One tugboat compulsory for the vessels of more than 500 GRT.
Three tugboats compulsory for the vessels of more than 25 000 GRT.
Four tugboats compulsory for the vessels of more than 50 000 GRT.
Provided by the port administration 4 tugs available (up to 2 500 HP).

Bunker : Fuel can be obtained from suppliers.


Bulk handling facilities
A grain silo of 95 000 ton capacity will be constructed and the silo will have conveyor system connection with the quay.
The construction is scheduled for completion in 1992.

Land access
