Location and Description of the port
İskenderun port is situated on the North East of the mediterranean Sea. The port has a breakwater, 1 400 m. long and is protected from N an S winds. The depth at the port entrance is 12 m. The port also serves the transit traffic to the Middle East.

Pilotage
Compulsory. Provided by the Port administration

Towage
One tugboat compulsory for the vessels of up to 4 000 GRT.
Two tugboats compulsory for the vessels of more than 4 000 GRT.
Provided by the port administration.
5 Tugs available (up to 2 500 HP).

Fresh Water Fresh water is available.

Ore And Bulk Handling Facilities
A conveyor for ore loading, operating at a rate of 100 t/hr is available. The construction of a grain silo of 60 000 ton capacity has been completed and has a conveyor connection with the quay.

The overal length of railway line within the port is 22 500 m. and railway connection exists to every quay.
